Garden Quartet is a multiethnical string quartet which was established in 2006 in the town of Subotica, in the North Serbian Province of Vojvodina. The members of the ensemble are of Roma, Serbian, Hungarian and Croatian nationality. Subotica is the Central European symbol of tolerance and multiculturalism since many different nationalities have lived here together for centuries. Garden Quartet became a significant cultural institution of the town in a short time. In 2007, the quartet won the Grand Prix at the II. International Festival of Chamber Music held in the town of Baja, Hungary. The ensemble regularly performs in EU and Serbia. Their work is supported by the local, regional and the Hungarian government.
